WiFi Router

A WiFi router typically accesses the Internet using an Ethernet WAN (Wide Area Network) connection from a device provided by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and offers it to devices connected via Ethernet LAN (Local Area Network) connections and a wireless WiFi signal. Information for connecting to the WiFi connection is usually printed on the device and involves finding out:

  1. The WiFi connection's SSID name
  2. The type of encryption it is using (if any) and
  3. The security code needed for the encryption

NMU Outdoor LTE devices do not provide a WiFi signal. A separate WiFi router must be used to provide Internet access to devices that need it. As of 10/1/17 Micro Repair is selling and recommending the Linksys AC1750 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router for people using an outdoor LTE device purchased from NMU.

Configuration

There are no specific instructions from NMU for configuring the Linksys AC1750 Router. The included manufacturer's instructions should be all that is needed to get connected and to change the SSID and encryption settings if desired.
