"NMU" (Wi-Fi)

• Broadest compatibility out of all of our Wi-Fi networks.
• Requires device registration using registration website.
• Two ways to register a device, both may require you know its MAC Address.
• If connecting to Wi-Fi use your devices "Wireless" MAC Address.
• Smart TVs & game consoles may require connectivity to this network.
• Registration can be done at: register.nmu.edu/register (if your device has a web browser), or register.nmu.edu/device (all other devices).

"NMU_WPA" (Wi-Fi)

• Requires device compatibility with WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise Networks.
• Recently released iPhones & Android Phones are often compatible.
• Most modern/recently released Apple/Windows Computers are often compatible.

NMU_Logon (Wi-Fi)

• Upon connecting, you will be brought to a web page and prompted to enter in your NMU Username (first part of email) and password.
• Some smart TV's/gaming consoles may be compatible with this network, though it is recommended to try the other available networks first.
• Generally recommended as a 'last resort' connection if no others are working.

eduroam (Wi-Fi)

• This Wi-Fi option is part of a larger initiative and it exists across numerous college campuses.
• Useful to use if you travel abroad or are an exchange student.
• You can connect to this network anywhere its available after connecting to it once.
• For NMU Staff/Faculty/Students, it can be connected to using your NMU Email Address & NMU Password.
• Access to some NMU resources (such as shared drives) may be limited while connected to this network.
• For guests visiting NMU from other universities, they will need to use their university credentials to connect to it.

On-Campus Wired Connectivity (Ethernet)

• You may first need to plugin an ethernet cable into the port on your wall & then your computer.
• Follows the same registration process as the "NMU" Wi-Fi option.
• Requires you use your devices "Wired" MAC Address for registration.
• Not available in every dorm or dorm room.
• Available in most staff offices.

The NMU Educational Access Network (EAN)

NMU's very own LTE (Wireless) Network!

• Serves as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) for various UP Communities.
• Available to staff, students, & community members.
• A full list of cities with EAN Coverage can be found on their website.
• NMU-issued Lenovo Laptops can have an LTE Card installed in them for no charge which will grant them access internet anywhere EAN LTE is available. If you need an LTE Card installed in your laptop, please stop by Technology Support Services and be prepared to leave your laptop with us for 4-24 business hours.
• TSS does not support the home or community internet service provided by the EAN.
• TSS does support NMU-issued laptops with LTE Cards installed in them.
