Apps Blocked By System Administrator

"System Administrator has blocked ____:"

- This error usually shows when trying to open many Windows Applications such as: calculator, photos, Microsoft store, etc.

- This error happens occasionally if a computer wasn't able to fully run all the scripts during the set up process. Luckily, there's an easy(ish) fix for this. It will require that you open up a terminal with Administrator rights. It's very important that the terminal is opened up in Administrator mode otherwise this fix may not work correctly.

To fix this error, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the following two lines below using the keys Ctrl+C:

    REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CloudContent /f
    REG DELETE HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore /f

  2. Right click the Windows button from the taskbar of your computer.
  3. Locate the option that will say "Terminal (Admin)". Accept any prompt it gives.
You will see a menu that looks like this:

Otherwise, if you try to search for it, you will see these options under Command Prompt. Make sure to "Run as administrator".
  4. A command-line terminal will open up. Here you will paste the two following lines above and press the Enter key twice:
    - If you are in Administrator Mode, you will see it listed in the top of the window at the left.
    - The computer that was used in this example had already had these steps completed hence the "ERROR". Your results will look different.
  5. Try opening the apps that were previously giving the warning.
