ThinkPad T14s Blue Screen

This documentation is only for the T14s ThinkPad experiencing Blue Screens (BSOD) while running. The error states "DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE" when present (as shown in the image below). This is being caused by a driver malfunction for a feature that is not used at NMU. The fix for this issue will have you disable the device.

Applying the Fix:

  1. When your computer is running again, right click on the start menu and select Device Manager
  2. Look for the item labeled "Memory technology devices" and select the arrow next to it (item 1)
  3. Right click on the device labeled "Realtek PCIE CardReader" (item 2)
  4. Select "Disable Device" from the list (item 3)
  5. You will see a prompt letting you know that disabling the device will cause it to stop working. Click Yes
  6. Close Device Manager and Reboot your computer
