WebDAV

World Wide Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning allows you to map the File Manager as a drive to your local computer. This process will allow you to move files and folders back and forth from your local computer to the File Manager of your course.

Windows - To map a drive log into your course using Internet Explorer:

1. Under the Build tab click File Manager.

2. Click the Actionlink (down arrow) to the right of File Manager, scroll to and click View WebDAV Info.

3. The Folder Path will be highlighted, right-click the highlighted url scroll to and click Copy.

4. Go to your local computer's desktop and double-left click My Network Places.

5. Click Add a network place.

6. Using the wizard click Next.

7. Choose another network location should be highlighted, click Next.

8. In the Internet or network address right-click scroll to and click Paste, click Next.

9. Log-in.

10. Create a name that will help you know which course this is such as UN000, click Next.

11. Click Finish

12. Log in again to open a window the File Manager area of your course.

13. Test your new mapped drive by going back to your desktop, clicking My Network Places, and locating the drive to the Manage Files of your WebCT course.

14. Once you log in you will be able to drag-and-drop files and folders from your local computer and your WebCT course and back.

 

Mac - To map a drive log into your course:

1. Under the Build tab click File Manager.

2. Click the Actionlink (down arrow) to the right of File Manager, scroll to and click View WebDAV Info.

3. The Folder Path will be highlighted, press Command + C.

4. On your local Mac computer, click Finder scroll to and click Go.

5. Click Connect to Server

6. Click in the address bar and press Command + V.

7. Click OK.

8. Log-in, the drive is now mapped to your Mac's Finder.
