Group Manager

  1. Under the Teach tab, Instructor Tools, click Group Manager
  2. Click Create Groups

There are 3 options for creating groups:

  1. Create a custom group - create individual names for each group and select its members
  2. Create multiple groups - create several groups at a time with "like" names such as Group 1, Group 2, etc. and WebCT randomly places students into groups (Members of the groups can be edited once the selections have been made.)
  3. Create groups with sign-up sheets - allow students to select which group they wish to be part of by "signing-up". These sign-up sheets could be placed on the Course Content Page (homepage).
The groups can then be associated to specific Tools such as:
  • Assessments
  • Assignments
  • Chat
  • Discussions
  • Mail
