Importing grades from the Testing Center to WebCTPart 1: Once you have submitted your tests for grading at the Testing Center open your computer to... 1. Open Internet Explorer and go to http://myweb.nmu.edu/testscore log in and click Admin. 2. Select the appropriate semester from the box in the upper right corner then click Browse Uploads. 3. Click the ID numbered button on the desired row. (You may arrange the list by clicking the button at the top of any column.) 4. Click the Points Per Question button, type a title for the test and a number for the points per question. Click Save. 5. Grade the test by clicking Student Match. Click Score Test. 6. The next screen offers a summary of the test. Click Cancel which will take you back to the previous screen then click Cancel again. 7. Click WebCT Export. 8. On the next screen under Please supply the WebCT column name, name the column. (i.e. Exam 1). Select either Number Right or Percent Score. Click Display. 9. The next screen displays the students' IDs and scores. Under File, scroll and click Save As. 10. On the Save Web Page window click Yes. Note where you are about to save this file on your local computer by viewing the Save In box at the top of the window (My Documents, Desktop, etc.) then in the File Name box at the bottom of the window type in a name then change the Save as type box to Text File (.txt)
Part 2: 1. Go to http://webct.nmu.edu, log-in and open your course. 2. Under the Teach tab and Instructor Tools click Grade Book. 3. Click Import from Spreadsheet. 4. Click Browse, locate the file on your computer, click to highlight it and click Open. 5. This will bring you back to the WebCT Import File screen, now click Upload. 6. In the Import File window, confirm columns are properly matching between Import Column and Grade Book Column. (If you do not have a column already created in WebCT for the new scores, then WebCT will create one for you.) 7. Click Import. Click OK. 8. Confirm the column in the WebCT Gradebook is a numeric column. If it is not then click the Grade Book Options button, scroll to and click Column Settings. 9. Locate the new column and click the Text link. 10. Select the new value Numeric, click Save. 11. Confirm the new value, then click Apply. 9/21/07 |
