Calendar

The Calendar tool provides opportunities to share information including

  • current events
  • upcoming events
  • deadlines
Calendar entries may be made under the Build, Teach, or Student View (if option is selected) tabs.Entries may be public (open to everyone in the course) or private (for your use only)Calendar may be viewed by the month, week, or day Using the Calendar Settings button, calendar settings may be adjusted including:
  • Allow students to create public entries
  • Default instructor entries as public or private (NMU default is public)
  • Custom View: show all courses or specify specific courses to view
    • Show entries from all my courses
    • Only show entries from these courses: (list of your courses)
    • Show personal entries

To create a calendar entry:

  1. Click the Add Entry button
  2. Type a Title (keep it short so it can easily display on the date cell on the calendar.)
  3. Use the Description to type in more details for the entry.
  4. Dates, start and end dates and times for the event.
  5. Entry type:
  • Personal
  • Course
  • Public or Private
  1. Under More Options
  2. Recurrence
  3. Link:
  • a specific file
  • content link

Click Save.

Printing calendar entries:

A range of calendar entries may be printing by clicking the Create Printable View button. Select the range of dates and times you wish to print. You may filter out specific messages. You may select public, private or both. Click Continue. Click Print.
