Assignment Dropbox

The Assignment Dropbox allows instructors to review and grades papers and/or presentations prepared by students in the Assignments tool.To review/grade an assignment:In the Teach tab, under Instructor Tools, click Assignment Dropbox.In the View by: box in the upper-right corner of the window click the dropdown arrow and select the specific assignment you wish to review. Click the green right arrow.Use the tabs at the top to view which students have:

  • Submitted
  • Not Submitted
  • Graded
  • Published
  • All
Under each tab columns will appear listing:
  • Title of assignment - click to view the submitted assignment
  • Assigned to (individual students or groups)
  • Status (Submitted or Graded)
  • Due Date
  • Grade
Students' assignments will either appear in the text box provided or an attachment will be listed. If an attachment, click the title of the attachment to view/save it.A comment box is available for comments with an additional option of including an attachment.
The comment box is a limited field. For extensive comments, use a separate document and attach it. Once the assignment has been reviewed you have the option of:
  • returning the assignment to the student for further editing
  • saving the file for further review and editing
  • returning the assignment to the student with a grade.
If using the grading form, click the grading form button, select the directed scores, and click Save. Click Save. If you wish to download a group of submitted assignments under the Submitted tab click the checkbox to the left of Title in the header.
  • Click Create Printable View.
  • Click Save to File.
  • In the yellow bar click the link to the .zip file.
  • Click Save and select a location to save the file to your local computer.
  • On your local computer, right-click the icon for the .zip file scroll to Extract All, click Next, click Next, click Finish.
  • A new file folder will appear with folders for each student's assignments inside.
Files may be reviewed and comments placed on the assignment and saved to your local computer. These files can then be attached under the Grader/Reviewer Comments box.8/7/07
