Purpose:
Defines the purchase of used notebook computers
Policy:
Notebook computers become available for purchase when the respective Lenovo or Apple lease expires. The purchase price is negotiated by NMU and is passed on to the purchaser; only one notebook per person per year. Eligible purchasers are notified via their NMU email account with required purchase procedures. WHO IS ELIGIBILE TO PURCHASE? The following prioritized groups are eligible to purchase the End of Lease notebook computers if inventory quantities permit:
Group 1 : NMU students that are issued the end of lease model available for purchase.
Group 2 : Graduating TLC participants who are issued an ineligible notebook model. These students are eligible to purchase an end of lease model after exchanging the ineligible notebook computers if inventory permits.
Group 3 : NMU faculty and staff that are issued an end of lease model that is available for purchase.
Group 4 : All NMU faculty and staff, if inventoriy permits.
Group 5 : NMU Retirees, if inventories permit
